BEATRICE  SMITH

Mrs. Beatrice Hetrick (Smith), aged 37 years, widow of James Bertrude Hetrick, who was killed in a mine explosion at Sample Run, Clymer #1 four years ago, died after a gull stone operation in the Indiana hospital on Saturday.  The deceased  was born 18 November 1893, in Coal Glen, Jefferson Co. Pa. Her father William Smith and mother Elizabeth Kendall emigrated in 1888 from England.  Had been a resident of Clymer for 25 years.  She held membership with the Clymer M. E. church and the Dames of Malta.  The funeral services were conducted at her late home at 28 Hancock St. (Now 230 Hancock St.) in Clymer on Tuesday by Rev. W. Ringer, and interment followed in the Greenwood cemetery, of  Indiana Co. Pa. She leaves these brothers and sisters, Mrs. Richard Chilton and [Joseph Smith] of Clymer, and Mrs. [William] Patterson and Charles [Smith ] of Tyrone.

 James and Beatrice Had two children.
1. Charles Kendall Hetrick, Born, 22 December 1917, Died, 1983. Was a WWII Veteran (Navy) and a coal miner all his life,  died from black lung.
2. Bertrude Irvin Hetrick, Born, 25 September 1920, Living.
