SENIOR FARMERS’ MARKET NUTRITION PROGRAM IT’S BACK! The Pennsylvania Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, a state wide program, through the PA Department of Agriculture is designed to put money for the purchase of nutritious produce into the hands of the commonwealth’s population. These checks are for eligible persons 60 and over that meet the 2008 Household Income Eligibility Guidelines (see below). Each person that qualifies will receive a total of $20 in vouchers to be used at state approved farmers markets. 2007 Household Income Eligibility Guidelines are as follows: Single $19,240 A Household is a group of related or unrelated individuals Couple $25,900 who are living together as one economic unit. If your Three $32,560 household contains more than three individuals, call (724) 349-4509 for income guidelines.
To receive this years checks you MUST provide Proof of Age and Income. The following will be be accepted as proof: PA Drivers License, PA Photo ID, Birth Certificate, Passport, Military Discharge Papers, Social Security Documents, and/or Income Tax Form 1099’s.
This year if you are picking up someone else’s checks for them, you MUST have a PROXY FORM, completed and signed IN ADVANCE by the person for whom you are picking up for, in addition to showing their Proof of Age, Residency and Income. Proxies are limited to two. A person may pick up checks for two individuals only. You may obtain Proxy Forms at your local Aging Services, Inc. Social Center or at the Aging Services, Inc. June 24 & July 8 Saltsburg Social Center, Chestnut Hills Social Center, Armagh Center, Indiana, Two Lick Valley and Mahoning Hills ALL 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
June 25 & July 2 Saltsburg Social Center 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
June 26 & July 3 Homer Center Social Center 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
June 30th & July 7 Chestnut Hills Social Center 5 – 7 p.m.
July 16th Indiana County’s Food Bank Warehouse Beginning at 8:30 a.m.
July 23rd through Sept. 23rd (Mon. – Fri only) or end of Distribution Allotment – ASI’s Administrative Office 1005 Oak Street, Indiana, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Should you reside in another county, contact your Area Agency on Aging for a distribution schedule there.

TWO LICK CENTER FUN BAND The Two Lick Valley Social Center located at 450 Franklin Street, Clymer, is still looking for musical people to join their Fun Band and Chorus! The band is growing in size and sound and are still looking for anyone who can play an instrument and/or sing!
